A FESTIVE funfair has been bringing Christmas cheer to shoppers in Minehead – and it only costs them £1.

It can be found in the window of the St Margaret’s Hospice charity furniture shop, in Friday Street.

The working fairground model has been set up and loaned to the charity by Minehead man Brian Giles and will be on display until January.

Customers, and passers-by, can put a £1 coin in the slot and press a button to see the funfair come to life with music and lights.

One supporter told the Free Press: “They have an adorable display which is a funfair that starts to run when donors put £1 in the box.

“There is a carousel, a big top, swings, etc, and they are all animated when the money is paid.

“When somebody puts the £1 in, it does stop passers-by.

“Of course, it goes to a great cause.”
