SEVERAL homes were evacuated in Flowerdale Road, Watchet, on Wednesday morning (October 16) after a report of a strong smell of gas.

Williton firefighters attended and used a gas monitor to inspect drains and other parts of the area.

They discovered a gas leak in a property and handed over to Wales and West Utilities engineers, who allowed residents to re-enter their homes.
