STAFF from two Taunton companies are joining forces for the first time to help clean up Minehead beach next month to raise money for charity.

Financial planning and insurance firm Lloyd and Whyte and start-up dental group Todays Dental have joined forces to support DentAid, which provides critical dental care and oral health advice for vulnerable people.

About 30 volunteers will take part in the clean-up on August 11 and any money raised will be matched by The Benefact Group, of which Lloyd and Whyte is a member.

George Western, of Lloyd and Whyte said: “We are proud to be part of The Benefact Group, a charity-owned family of financial services companies that give all available profits to charity and good causes.

“We are built on the idea that better business can better lives.

“We are delighted to once again be partnering with Todays Dental, a dental group who share our vision to be a deeply human organisation that is truly people-focused.”

Todays Dental chief executive Rob Paxman said: “Todays Dental is delighted to be partnering with Lloyd and Whyte.

“We have developed a fantastic relationship with them over the last year, and it will only be strengthened by collaborating on causes that are close to both of our business’ missions and values.

“We could not be happier to be kicking it off by raising money for our industry charity DentAid.”

DentAid runs multiple mobile dental units travelling the country, visiting soup kitchens, food banks, hostels, community centres, and other places where volunteer dental professionals help those in under-served communities.

The charity also supports overseas organisations through providing refurbished equipment to places where it is most needed, as well as training dental professionals in a wide range of locations.

Sponsorship can be offered online via the event’s GoFundMe page which can be found at https://www.gofundme.com/f/charity-beach-clean-for-dentaid.
