STAFF from Minehead Town Council and Eagle Plant Hire saved the day for Minehead Bay Festival by shifting several tonnes of sand from The Esplanade.
The festival brings international art and culture to the town in a mix with talented local artists and musicians and provides a platform to showcase young people’s work.

It was held throughout Saturday (August 31) after the build up of sand had been removed the previous day to allow access for contractors to set up equipment.
A festival spokesperson said: “This is what the Minehead Bay Festival is all about, community chipping in and helping each other out.”
Blue skies and sunshine helped to attract large crowds who were entertained with a packed programme of free events and activities offering fun for all ages.
Among the favourites was Higher Beings Circus with an impressive display of jaw dropping acts, and a skateboarding ramp for all ages and abilities.
On the beach, there was storytelling, a drum circle workshop, and an opportunity to create a giant wish sculpture with Chris Oakey.
A wellbeing tent featured gong baths, yoga, and a breathwork session, while a busk station saw more than half-a-dozen buskers perform in addition to live music acts on a solar-powered stage.
