A ROADCHEF service station on the M5 is honouring a long-serving staff member, Philippa Wood, for her remarkable 25 years of dedication to the company.

Mark Fox, chief executive officer for Roadchef, presented Philippa with a long service award to commemorate this significant milestone at Sedgemoor services, between junctions 21-22.

Philippa began her career with Roadchef on the October 11, 1999, when the Euro currency was introduced earlier that year. The Matrix film premiered in cinemas, and Christina Aguilera’s Genie in a Bottle was number one in the music charts.

Throughout her tenure, Philippa began as a team member at Wimpy and was promoted to Unit Manager at the restaurant. When Wimpy closed down, Phillipa moved to the Cornish Bakery. Philippa has remained a steadfast presence at Sedgemoor ever since. When Philippa isn’t at work, she enjoys arts and crafts, including glass drawing.
