PARISH councillors are offering flood prevention kits for up to six Nether Stowey residents.
The council bought the kits from Rotary Emergency Volunteer Action Group, funded by Somerset Prepared.
It is charging £10, and will order more kits if there is a demand for them.
The packs comprise six plastic sacks and gel sachets which are enough to create a barrier to prevent water entering the average front door.
The sacks are flat-packed for easy storage and when filled with water and gel form a barrier of bricks, and after use can safely be emptied into a drain or in a garden and stored for reuse.
Anybody who needs a kit should email [email protected] or contact the council office.
