MORE bleed kits have been installed in key locations in Minehead as part of a police public safety initiative and to be prepared for emergencies.

The potentially life-saving kits are designed to provide immediate assistance in the event of a traumatic injury involving severe bleeding.

They contain essential medical supplies, including trauma dressings, tourniquets, and other critical items proven to save lives in emergency situations.

Using the kits can help to stabilise a casualty until paramedics arrive.

Minehead’s neighbourhood policing team worked with the town council, which provided funding, to install two more kits outside the Hairy Dog public house, in The Avenue, and Channel Adventure, in Warren Road.

A council spokesperson said the authority remained committed to investing in community health and safety resources.
