A PANCAKE Day event on Exmoor has raised £600 for the life-saving Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance charity.

The Shrove Tuesday evening in Brompton Regis Village Hall was attended by about 70 people.

Savoury and sweet filings were on offer as it took about two-and-a-half hours to cook enough pancakes for everybody.

Village hall trustee Sylvia Luxton thanked Jo and Rupert and her other other helpers for cooking, Somerset Kitchen, in Williton, for donating the bacon, and Edward for donating the eggs, leeks, and onions. 

Ms Luxton said: “I have had lots of nice comments about the evening and pleased to say I have paid £600 into the air ambulance account.

“Hopefully, we will do it all again next year.”
