AN outline planning application for approximately 90 homes on a nine-acre site in Williton has been submitted to West Somerset Council.
The application, for a mix of one to four-bedroom homes, including some bungalows, is on 3.65 hectares of farmland currently grazed by horses, just north of Williton on Doniford Road.
The site, east of the recently completed development of 29 homes at Aller Mead, falls within the Local Plan except for some extensions that “can … deliver a connected and comprehensive scheme”.
The application has been submitted by the Wyndham Estate and prepared jointly by Savills (UK) and Thrive Architects and Urban Design.
The outline application said the submitted masterplan would “provide an attractive development that respects and reflects its village edge location and offers future residents a well-conceived and pleasant environment within which to live”.
The development would be a mixture of one, two, three and four-bedroom homes, many two-storey but with a plan to also include a block of bungalows, to the east of Aller Mead, providing a mix of housing to suit the demonstrated needs of the area’s communities – and recognising the needs of the older population.
