COLLEAGUES in Somerset Care Group’s (SCG) head offices have spread a little festive cheer by hosting a box for Quantock Food Bank.
Staff gathered donations of food and toiletries to gift to struggling families at Christmas.
Quantock Food Bank also combines a pantry to support families across a large area of West Somerset.
The not for profit care group also collected, wrapped, and donated toys, treats, and food parcels for other Somerset food banks supported by their local communities, colleagues, and residents.
Residential and nursing services head Kerry Stevens said: “One of SCG’s core values is ‘making a difference’, and there is no better time to support the communities we live and work in than in the busy run up to Christmas.
“We know this time of year can be especially difficult for families who are already struggling, prompting more people to turn to food banks for their daily essentials.
“I hope that the generosity and community spirit shown by our colleagues and residents will help to ease the burden for families in crisis this Christmastime, making their festive season a little easier, and a little brighter.”
SCG was established in 1991 and now provides specialist care and support to thousands of people in communities across Somerset, Devon, Wiltshire, and Bath and North East Somerset.
Ms Stevens said: “We are passionate about supporting people to live the life they choose, and offer home care, residential care, specialist dementia care, award-winning learning disabilities support and a respite centre for those living with a physical disability.”
