After Christmas you may want to leave the tree up for as long as possible or you may want to get it gone on midnight on the 25th, either way, it has to go at some point!
Real Christmas trees can create a lot of waste, 250 tonnes of real Christmas trees are thrown away in landfills every year! Luckily, trees can be taken to any of Somerset’s recycling sites and put it in the garden waste skip.
Or... it gets even easier!
The St Margaret's Hospice Christmas Tree Crew will be collecting Christmas trees on Saturday January 13 and Sunday January 14 2024. Their volunteers will collect in the following postcodes in West Somerset.

Somerset set council say: ‘The best option is to compost it at home or turn it into a wildlife corner, though we appreciate that will not be possible for many people.’
Trees make great fire wood too!
