SNOW covered much of Exmoor overnight on Wednesday into Thursday (March 27-28) as spring temperatures plummeted.
Somerset Council’s snow ploughs were sent into action to clear roads in the national park, especially around Porlock Hill, Simonsbath, and Exford.

The area experienced sub-zero temperatures, as did the Quantock and Blackdown Hills as ice, frost, and snow struck.
A council spokesperson said: “Just goes to show, winter is not over until it is over...”
The Met Office said no more snow was forecast, but issued a yellow weather warning for strong winds across much of Somerset until 6p m on Thursday.
More heavy rain was also forecast for the area, which was expected to see thunder storms by the late afternoon.
