MINEHEAD allotment holders face rental increases from October as the town council aims to ensure the long-term sustainability and maintenance of the ‘cherished’ sites, with large plots now costing £60, standard ones £45, and half-plots £30.

A council spokesperson said: “The increase has become necessary due to cost escalations across various materials and resources required for the upkeep of allotment sites.”
