THREE more villages in the West Somerset area are set to join the 20 mph traffic club after Somerset Council advertised proposed changes to speed limits across the county.

It follows concerns expressed by parish councillors in many areas at the numbers of vehicles they felt were travelling too fast through village streets.

A total of 15 communities will have 20 mph speed zones introduced this year, including Monksilver, Crowcombe, and Cannington.

Separately, Monksilver will also see a 30 mph limit imposed on two stretches of the B3188 Woodford Road.

Any representations or objections can be made by email to the council no later than April 9.

The draft order and maps showing the roads involved can be seen online at www.somerset.gov.uk/TRO.
