A NEW set of electrically-operated gates has been given to Watchet’s Knights Templar Community Church School by Summerfield Homes, builders of the nearby 250-home Liddymore Park development, as part of its community support programme.

A company spokesperson said: “The gates will enhance the safety and security of the students and staff.

“This project follows the provision of a 16-space car park at no cost to the school in 2022.”

Summerfield Homes projects manager Mark Woodland said: “We would like to thank headteacher Mrs Laura Weaver and the team at Knights Templar for being so accommodating during the ongoing construction of Liddymore Park.

“It is great to give back to our local community and provide valuable resources that benefit the school daily.”

Mrs Weaver said the new gates would greatly improve the school’s security.

She said: “It has been a pleasure to work with the company which has been so adaptable throughout the process.”
