A NEW project helping Somerset’s voluntary, charity, faith, and social enterprise groups save money on running buildings launches later this month in Otterhampton Village Hall, in Combwich.
Decarb Somerset helps community-run organisations and venues cut costs and reduce their carbon footprints with advice on making best choices to future proof buildings with DIY, energy audits, and decarbonisation plans.
The project equips organisations with ‘the knowledge and confidence to pursue sustainability goals and help them get funding-ready for the latest green grants’.
Decarb Somerset provides peer support and networking opportunities for groups across Somerset to share experiences and best practices.
There will be training and expert guidance through regular events led by technical experts covering energy efficiency, decarbonisation plans, and sustainable building practices.
The project also offers one-on-one personalised support, and has 30 fully-funded technical energy audits valued at £700 each available to eligible organisations.
Launch event tickets can be booked online here.
