‘VILLAGE Pilgrim’ Diana Racotea has reached Williton in her nine-day walk through West Somerset communities raising awareness of the need to support cancer patients.

Diana, aged 36, who founded the ‘We Visit Villages’ project after surviving cancer, wants to cover 25 communities.

She left Porlock last week aiming to encourage deeper community connections and prompt conversations about the healing powers of the natural environment and communal support.

Diana said: “Even though I am feeling incredibly weary, my journey persists.

“I have covered over 70 miles on foot so far.

“It has been quite a rewarding journey, connecting with many exceptional individuals.

“I have had the opportunity to meet small business owners from local shops to village accommodations, who generously shared their experiences of running a business in a rural setting.

“It was heartening to see them genuinely happy to welcome me and to learn not many ‘social media influencers’ venture into this area’.
