CHRISTMAS presents are being collected via an Exmoor village shop for children of families supported by Home-Start West Somerset.
The charity works with families from Minehead, Dunster, Porlock, Dulverton, Watchet, Stogursey, and the communities in between.
Wootton Courtenay Villagers’ Stores board member Barbara O’Keefe said: “Over recent years the kind villagers of Wootton Courtenay have shown great generosity through donating Christmas presents to Home-Start West Somerset.
“One-in-four children under five in the UK has a difficult start in life, because their families are under pressure.
“Yet, every child deserves the best possible start, to be loved, to play, to learn, and to grow in confidence.
“Home-Start West Somerset provides friendship and practical support to parents with young children in our local community.
“The Villagers’ Stores is delighted to support Home-Start and be the collection point for gifts.”
Home-Start manager Clare Pound said: “We would be delighted to receive Christmas presents for the children of the families we support again this year.
“The families mainly range in age from babies to five years, so it would be great to receive a mix of gifts suitable for these ages.
“If wrapping, please can you indicate whether for a girl or boy or suitable for both, together with an age guide so we can match the presents with our families easily.”
Any presents need to be delivered to the Wootton Courtenay shop for collection by December 11.
