AN Exmoor man will be driving 117 miles ‘topless’ around London tomorrow (Saturday) in support of ex-Services men and women.

Terry Jones, who lives in Wootton Courtenay, is taking part in the annual Friends Round London (FRL) event which aims to raise thousands of pounds for UK Homes 4 Heroes.

Mr Jones will be driving his bright yellow MG convertible car on the M25 circling London at midnight.

The annual FRL charity drive has one rule - no matter the weather, entrants must be ‘topless’, the car, that is.

Mr Jones’s modern classic MG, a regular sight in Wootton Courtenay, will be among hundreds of convertible cars taking part in the rally this year.

He said: “We would appreciate any support you may be able to give.“We have a sponsorship form, or you can give via our JustGiving webpage.”

UKH4H was founded in 2010 in response to the plight of homeless ex-Service personnel and estimates more than 4,500 previously members of the British Armed Forces sleep rough in the UK today.

Mr Jones said the charity helped them to gain a permanent home through social housing and provided dedicated to hostel-style accommodation which gave a safe, clean, living environment where they could feel secure and at home.
