WILLITON Bowling Club’s B team travelled to Bridgwater in the West Somerset League and played the whole game in the rain!
Stan Martin’s rink drew 13-13; Graham Scott’s rink lost 15-9; Alan Cane’s rink won 20-13. Williton clinched the game by 1 shot! 42-41 and 9-3 to Williton B
The A team welcomed Taunton A to Williton and played in lovely sunshine, although a bit chilly come the end!
Rich Waterman, skipping his first WSL game, won 19-8; Derek Sully‘s rink lost 31-13.
With Callum Harrod’s rink winning 21-12 the match went down to the last 2 ends with the game being level. Williton A managed to win 53-51 and 10-2 on points!!
This was a great for both teams on the opening day of the WSL!
Meanwhile some of the Williton members were invited to trail for Somerset teams. Both Elaine Amery and Carrie Williamson were invited to trial for the Walker cup as they won the ladies pairs in 2023, but due to other commitments Carrie was unable to attend the second trial.
Callum Harrod was invited to trial for the Somerset Middleton cup team, and after the first trial has now been invited to the Middleton cup squad day/2nd trial!
