WATCHET Amateur Boxing Club in West Somerset has launched a drive to boost its numbers.

A long established part of the local community, the boxing club has been producing boxers at a high level for more than 50 years.

There has been England internationals and national champions at the Watchet club, but more importantly the club offers a safe place for young people to take part in a sport which is very disciplined.

The last couple of years has seen a massive surge of interest in boxing - at both professional and amateur level - and Watchet Boxing Club offers a great place to come and give it a try.

All you need to bring is a willingness to learn - and to provide some effort. The club have members of all ages and experience; any one is welcome from the age of ten upward.

The club also offers a separate gym area that can be used on training nights if members are looking to get active but boxing is not the sport for them.

Anybody interested in joining the club should contact David Steel 07747010288 - and they will be made most welcome.
