MINEHEAD Barbarians' head coach Jack Claydon admitted it has been a difficult season because of injuries, including to himself.

He said: "Looking back on it I believe it was a successful considering all our problems. In the circumstances I was pleased with the boys' performances.

"I believe we turned the corner towards the end of the season and our position of seventh in our division was good. We're slowly building up a good squad."

Claydon, who missed most of the season with a back problem, is now fit again and plans to play on next season.

The 31-year-old scrum half or centre rejoined Minehead from Taunton Titans during the pandemic.

"I'm looking forward very much to playing regularly again because I've missed a lot of rugby because of Covid and injury," he added.
