DARREN Richards is the new chairman of Minehead Cricket Club after being appointed at the AGM which took place in the pavilion on Monday evening.

Darren, who is also chairman of the Bar and Pavilion Committee, takes over from Andrew Stevens who has stepped down after being in the post for the last 12 year. During his time in office Andrew worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the club ran smoothly, so players, juniors and supporters could enjoy their cricket.

As secretary Ian Buchanan said: “Thank you ‘Trunky’ for all your hard work, your contribution to the club over the years will never be forgotten.”

Ivan Jones stays as president as well as being the teasurer while Ian Buchanan continues as secretary,

Dan Bowditch remains as captain of the First XI who will this year compete in the Premier Division of the Somerset Cricket League and will be ably assisted by vice captain Chris James.

Charlie Payne steps up to captain the Second XI, who will be competing in Division Three of the Somerset League with James Davis the vice captain.

Ian Goodrum continues as captain of the Third XI who will compete in the West Somerset Cricket League.
