IT’S all systems go at Minehead Cricket Club who after winning promotion from the Somerset Cricket League in 2023 will be competing back in the West of England Premier League (WEPL) Somerset Division.

The MCC First XI open their campaign at Yeovil, on Saturday May 4, on the same day Minehead A XI travel to play Sampford Arundel in Division Three of the West Somerset League, while the Seconds host Chard in Division Three of the Somerset Cricket League on Monday 6th May.

There will be a new team at the helm of the First XI where Dan Bowditch takes over the captaincy with Chris James the new vice captain.

The skipper said: “The club is in a good place looking forward to the new season and it’s very much the same squad as last year which is good news.

“We have been attending indoor nets at West Somerset College Sport Centre for four weeks and there have been good numbers attending which is good news.”

Minehead play their first pre-season match on 21st April at Wellington.
