WESTERN Storm chalked up their first victory in this season's Charlotte Edwards Cup when they beat Sunrisers by 34 runs at the Cooper Associates County Ground.
After being asked to bat first the hosts posted 134 for eight from their 20 overs, of which skipper Sophie Luff contributed 41 off 34 deliveries, adding 44 for the fourth wicket with Amanda-Jade Wellington in just less than six overs before the latter was out for 20 which she made off 15 balls.
Lower in the order Sophia Smale made an unbeaten 14 off nine balls.
For the visitors Mady Villiers, Eva Gray and Sophie Munro all claimed two wickets each.
When the Sunrisers batted they quickly found themselves nine for two after three overs had gone. They recovered to reach 48 for four when three wickets tumbled in quick succession, making the Sunrisers 48 for five.
Flo Miller and Gray then took the score onto 94 for seven when both fell in quick succession to Ellie Anderson - the former for 28 and the latter for 14.
Anderson wrapped up the innings in the 18th over as Sunrisers were all out for 106 with 14 balls to spare, to end with four for nine while Smale claimed three for 16.
