MINEHEAD start a spell of three successive home games when they play Peasedown Miners Welfare in the Premier Division of the Uhlsport Somerset County League on Saturday, February 1 (3p.m.).
Although they have not won a match since they beat Ashcott 5-0 at home before Christmas, Minehead are still handily placed in fifth spot in the division,
“It’s not that we have been playing badly; we just cannot score goals,” said Minehead boss Craig Carr. “We’re strong in defence and the midfield are creating chances - but we’re not finishing. We’ve been very unlucky.”
Watchet Town will be hoping for back to back wins when they play home to Chard Town in the first division (2p.m.).
Watchet returned to winning form with a 4-2 victory at Somerton last weekend while Chard did not play although they beat Timsbury Athletic 3-1 at home the previous weekend.
“Our performance against Somerton was more like it,” said Watchet club spokesman Nick Sully.
