MINEHEAD’S unbeaten run continued when they hosted Huish Tigers in the Under 12 section of the Somerset Girls Football League.

The away side took full advantage of playing down the slope in the first half and despite a strong defensive display, and some great saves from the keeper, Minehead found themselves 3-0 adrift at the break, with a mountain to climb.

Never a team to dip their heads, Minehead started the second half brightly and produced some fantastic football. Three quick goals saw Minehead draw level and it was not long before they found the net again to take the lead for the first time in the match.

Huish responded with a goal of their own to level the scores. With both teams in an attacking mood and searching for the three points it was Minehead who kept their composure in front of goal and found themselves the net again twice more to eventually make the final score 6-4.

To win the game from 3-0 down is evidence of the girls consistent teamwork and work ethic.

Minehead have now made it four consecutive games unbeaten in the league. Next up for them is an away trip to North Curry in the New Year.
