SOMERSET County Football League club Minehead have officially appointed Craig Carr as their new manager.
Carr has been caretaker manager since taking over from Matt Harris early last month.
Minehead's new chairman Robbie Hopkins said: "We have been really pleased with the way Craig has run the side since taking charge and with results towards the end of the season.
"We have been particularly impressed by the way he has introduced local youngsters. He has done a good job and he can now start planning for the pre-season."
Minehead began this season with high hopes of winning promotion from the first division but eventually finished a disappointing tenth with only nine wins in 28 league games, although they were well clear of the relegation zone.
With former player Carr in charge, they ended the season with an impressive 3-2 away victory over Yatton & Cleeve who were promoted after finishing third, one place below neighbours Watchet Town.
Minehead also won 2-0 away to Burnham United in their previous match against a side who were in the top-six for much of the season.
Minehead's performances towards the end of the season were enough to convince the club they did not have to look elsewhere for a manager.
