PORLOCK Reserves beat Watchet Twon Reserves 4-1 away to gain revenge for a big defeat by their rivals in Division Two of the Taunton Saturday League earlier this season.

Both teams started well but no goals were forthcoming until on 20 minutes Porlock won a corner which Watchet defended well and broke quickly to catch the visitors unawares and slotted past keeper Joe Ferris to make it 1-0.

This seemed to spark life into the Porlock players and they started playing some good football. The front three of James Day, Oliver Heathfield and Ryan Cape all linked well and shortly afterwards the score was level when a ball from Day fell to Braden Taylor who slotted home.

Porlock pressed hard and were awarded a penalty and Brandon Simsek rifled the ball past the Watchet goalkeeper to make it 2-1.

Porlock knew they had to come out in the second half with the same tempo and they did. Within the first five minutes of the second half a short back pass was pounced on by Oliver Heathfield who rounded the ‘keeper and tapped the ball into an empty net.

This goal seemed to knock the wind out of the sails of the hosts. It wa not long before a long ball down field was beautifully controlled by Oliver Heathfield who smashed the ball into the left hand corner to double his tally and make the score 4-1 to Porlock.

After this the visitors played smart football to prevent Watchet mounting any sort of a fightback. In the final minutes Todd Willis, who was playing against his home town club, went close for Porlock, firstly with a long range free kick and then when the keeper acted smartly to keep the ball out of the top corner.

Porlock certainly gained revenge for the reverse they suffered earlier in the season.
