MINEHEAD travelled to Middlezoy on 18th March and came away with the points in what was an excellent advertisement for the Somerset County Under 18 League.
Good football played in the right spirit.
Minehead were committed from the outset after a disappointing performance the previous Sunday.
With a really good defence of Lewis Breillat in goal, Lewis Norman, Harvey Henderson, Jonah Hopkins and Myles Campbell-Farmer keeping a clean sheet it was going to be difficult for the home team.
Haiden Griffiths and Riley Pope looked dangerous up top but it was the never ending running of the midfield trio of Tom Kennett, Zak Dibden and Lyam Scheepers that shone and made the home team work.
Hopkins succumbed to injury after 20 minutes and Leo Ahern joined him before half time but they were seamlessly replaced by Khalib Scheepers and Lennon Sowden.
Half time came and went and soon saw the addition of Ashton Jackson in attack who quickly caused problems and worried Middkezoy.
Morgan Wild made what is a rare appearance and George Kennett joined his bother with endless running.
It was a pinpoint free kick from Sowden that found the head of top scorer Pope who rose to give the team the win they deserved.
Man of the match was Lewis Norman.
