DULVERTON were without several key players for this home game against Watchet Town Reserves, including manager Kelland.
‘Keeper Hooper, the assistant manager, was also forced to withdraw shortly before kick-off leaving the team to scramble around and find a keeper.
However the senior members of the team stepped up and they were rewarded when Adam Kelland on ten minutes and Tom Blundell after half an hour put Town into a two goal lead.
Hooper managed to get back from his duties mid way through the half.
Midfield duo Blundell and Mears added to the scoring mid way through the half to put Town 4-0 ahead.
Sixteen year olds Ollie Shortman and debutant Matthew Shaddick gave some fresh legs to the side in the last 25 mins and although Town did concede late on it was a well earned win - their third in a row.
The squad of 16 included eight players under 20 years old and the club have not only been trying to be successful on the field, but also finding new players locally and building for the future.
Town are now seven points behind Minehead who are in fourth place with five games to go.
Dulverton are away to Huish Sports tomorrow.
