WATCHET Town have begun pre season training and although there were some absentees at the first session due to holidays and other commitments, a few new faces were present and it was an encouraging workout with some promising youngsters on view.
Twice a week sessions will now be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6.15pm at the Memorial Ground with players - old and new welcome - asked to bring trainers and boots as well as their own drink.
There are three first team friendlies - possibly four - organised towards the end of the month and two for the reserves at the moment.
The Red & Blacks will visit Bishops Lydeard to play their reserves on Monday July 15th and Thursday July 25th to face their first team.
In between they will visit Burnham United on Thursday July 18th and it is hoped to play Wembdon nearer the start of their League campaign on Saturday August 3rd.
Somerset County League fixtures are not expected to be made public until around the middle of the month. In the meantime Watchet are solving their goalkeeping problem since former keeper Adam Bishop's retirement, both for the start of the season and further forward with experienced players lined up to fill the gap.
