Meanwhile, the Minehead & West Somerset Golf Club Seniors played a Bowmaker competition at the end of which first place, with 76 points, went to Mark Watson, Andy Giles and Nigel Trevelyan. In second position with 75 points were Martin Hole, Edward Frewin and Graham Smith while Roger Green, Mark Ruttley and Tony Connolly came third with 69.
A Pine-amble competition was subsequently played in bitterly cold conditions. The winning pair with 63 points were Dave Oatridge and Nigel Trevelyan, second on count back with 64, went to Mike O’Keefe and Mark Ruttley with Chris Durman and Sandy Lyons taking third place.
Unfortunately, bad weather once again disrupted competitions for the latter part of the week for clubs in the local area.
