MINEHEAD Hockey Club Ladies first team went down 4-0 away to Isca 2nds over the weekend,

While Minehead put up a strong resistance, it was the opposing team which scored the first goal of the match. Minehead maintained an organized defence, with Jess Koppa and Molly Rucklidge executing many effective clearances to the right wing.

Minehead also implemented well-rehearsed tactics, launching attacks on both wings which, although ultimately unsuccessful, prevented Isca from taking control.

Minehead secured their only short corner of the game but Zöey Cape's powerful strike from the top of the D was knocked wide by an Isca defender. Later, Isca scored again to go in at half time 2-0 up.

Despite a halftime talk and impressive plays by midfielders Gemma Chilcott and Sarah Hayes, Isca managed to score two more goals shortly into the second half.

Nonetheless, Minehead continued to defend loyally, thwarting every opposition short corner and minimizing the impact of their defeat while keeping positive morale. Goalkeeper Janice Weetch made several outstanding saves. Rocking Horse Cafe player of the match: Jan Weetch.
