THE junior section at Minehead Cricket Club are starting preparations for the new season tomorrow (Sat), writes Richard Walsh.

The Junior Nets will be taking place in the West Somerset College Sports Centre between 10am and 12 noon, beginning tomorrow morning for ten consecutive weeks.

By the time the last indoor net takes place training will be starting outdoors and the fixtures will be getting underway.

There will be four lanes in the indoor nets and all of them will be using a hard ball. There will be a lane for each of the age groups Under 11, 13, 15 and 17 so there will be plenty of opportunity for both batting and bowling.

Apart from a pair of trainers all other kit including a helmet is provided, although those who prefer to bring their own are very welcome to do so.

There will be plenty of adult supervision on hand and the cost per session is £2.50 or £20 for all 10.
