THE Clubman of the Year Trophy at Minehead Men's Hockey Club has been awarded to Paul Jones for his long service as second team captain - and the hard work which goes with it.
He received his award at the club's end of season evening at the Britannia Inn.
New Committee members were voted in at the AGM, with new first team captain James Weetch and vice-captain Claude Mahlich stepping up; Joe Bolton takes the helm for the 2s, and Honorary Life Memberships were given to Club Legends Mark Swallow for all his incredible work as a player, Chairman, and most recently umpire, and outgoing club stalwart Nick Hill for his twenty as player and committee member as he heads to a new adventure at Isca Club in Exeter.
New coach Andrew Speed has offered mini Summer mixed hockey training sessions details of which will appear on Social Media, and will be training both the Men’s and Ladies teams next season as the men slide down their table, and the Ladies embark on a new campaign in a higher League having won promotion this season.
Other awards hand out included: Claude Mahjlich as first team player of the year, Lawrence Taylor for the seconds and Scott Fewings for the thirds.
