PORLOCK Ladies lost 2-1 at home to leaders Combe St Nicholas in Division Three South of the Somerset Women’s Football League
Porlock began the game really strong, showcasing some beautiful football and giving Combe the runaround and it was not long before Porlock were putting the Combe keeper under pressure making her pull out some top saves.
Porlock could have been 2-0 up at half time but they were denied by the post and a questionable offside.
Porlock came out fighting in the second half controlling play and again pressing Combe’s keeper. It was not long before Kayleigh Campbell-Farmer found the back of the net when a ball out from the back from Kirsty Trevis found the midfielder who delivered the ball into Combe’s defensive area and Kayleigh was first to the loose ball to put Porlock ahead.
Combe equalised shortly after a scramble in the box. Combe snapped up the winner in the 85th minute but Porlock kept fighting for the equaliser right to the end.
Despite Porlock’s best efforts to get past the strong Combe keeper the game ended in an away win. Porlock should all be proud of their team effort and the way they played and controlled much of game. Player of the match: Kayleigh Campbell-Farmer.
