PORLOCK Reserves were beaten 2-1 away by Dunwear Reserves in Division Two of the Taunton Saturday League.
Ollie Morris and Dave Furse started to pull the strings in the midfield and helped Oliver Heathfield and Finley Priddle to break the back line. However, it was the Dunwear ‘keeper that came out on top.
Porlock’s experienced back line of Declan Paterson, Karl Middleton-Smith, Gregg Howard and Stuart Brown stood strong against everything the home attack threw at them as the first half ended 0-0.
Dunwear drew first blood in the 70th minute with some good hold up play from their striker that saw him shrug off the Porlock defender before rifling the ball in to the back of the net to take the lead.
Porlock were straightway back causing Dunwear problems but just were not unable to find the final piece to the puzzle. Dunwear doubled their lead through the same striker when a ball over the top saw him break through the Porlock defence to score.
Again Porlock pushed to try and get back in the game and Oliver Heathfield broke through the Dunwear back line and squared the ball to the arriving Braden Taylor who scored to make the last five minutes of the match more exciting.
