SOMERSET'S hopes of reaching Finals Day in this year’s Vitality Blast competition have been dealt a blow with the news that paceman Riley Meredith has been called up by Australia for their three match T20 series against Scotland.

The series against Scotland gets underway on 4th September so Meredith, who has claimed 14 wickets for Somerset in the group stages, will be unavailable for the quarter final match away against Northants on Thursday, 5th September.

However ifs Somerset overcome Northants in the quarter finals then Meredith will be available for Finals Day at Edgbaston on Saturday 14th September.
