WATCHET Town will be looking for all three points when they play at home to bottom side Somerton Town in the Premier Division of the Uhlsport Somerset County Football League on Saturday, September 14 (3p.m.).
Watchet beat Stockwood Wanderers 1-0 at home in the Somerset Senior Cup last weekend but club official Nick Sully admitted: “I would rather it had been a league game and three points.
“Obviously we were pleased with a win - it gives the lads confidence. And it was good to keep a clean sheet.”
Watchet will be without captain Eben Harding, but full back Lewis Rogers is available and hopefully midfielder Kieran Bailey will also be back. However, there is a doubt over another midfield player Harry Scatchard.
Meanwhile, Minehead will be out to stretch their winning run to four matches when they play away to Peasedown Miners Welfare in the first division.
“I have a group of players who are enjoying their football; it is good to watch,” said Minehead boss Craig Carr. “They all want to improve and they are getting on with their jobs.”
Minehead still have last season’s top scorer Guy Burns, Rob Vickers, George Painter and Matt Trump to come back into the squad, so competition for places will become tougher.
