WATCHET Ladies gained a 6-0 home victory over Crewkerne Ladies in Division Three South of the Somerset Women’s Football League.
The game got off to an even start but it was Watchet who had the upper hand as chances fell to Vicky Grellier-Sully and Emeral Haran, but sadly no goals were forthcoming..
Watchet missed a penalty but Emeral then scored twice with assists going to Vicky and Darcy.
Defenders Abbie Rendell, Jodie Edmond and Evie Lovell all worked brilliantly together, keeping a high line to keep Crewkerne at bay.
Marie Denley made her Watchet debut up front and Honey Potter had the chance to assist the goal with her long throw ins and Vicky managed to finish for Watchet’s third goal.
At half time Watchet made a few changes with an amazing clean sheet from Gemma Glasson setting keeper Becky Preater up well, Beth Rogers-Jukes, Frankie Baro, Ellen Rogers also came on.
Emeral came back on in the second half to set up Marie for her debut goal. In the last 10 minutes Darcy and Marie also set Emeral up for two more goals as it ended 6-0. Player of the match was awarded to Emeral.
