TALENTED Exmoor artists Georgina King and Jill Davies are exhibiting in Minehead’s Townsend House for Somerset Art Weeks (SAW), which starts on Saturday (September 16).
The 16th century house in the centre of the town is said to be Minehead’s oldest house.
It is being brought to life with the vibrant colour, texture, and rhythms of Exmoor land, sea, and sky which both artists passionately portray in their paintings and prints.
There will be an opportunity to wander in the charming walled gardens and tea and cake will be served at weekends.
The exhibition will be open from 10 am to 4 pm each day except Mondays and Tuesdays, and there will be opportunities to visit several other popular artists in venues around Minehead, making the event an autumn cultural treat not to be missed.
The annual Somerset Art Weeks runs from September 16 to October 1 and alternates each year between open studios and exhibitions/events.
This year it is open studios where SAW artist members open their studio doors to allow a glimpse into often-private spaces and workshops, as well as pop-up venues where audiences can meet the artist, see work in progress, and visit the creative source.
Somerset Open Studios 2023 also features family friendly weekends.
