AN early sale of Exmoor Horns held at the Exmoor Farmers Livestock Auction, in Wheddon Cross, has raised hundreds of pounds for Musgrove Park Hospital’s Beacon Centre, which provides care for cancer sufferers.

The first lots in the ring were given to help the charity cause with a shearling ewe from the Blackmore family seeing the hammer fall at 340 guineas.
It was purchased by Mr W. Howard, of Exford.
A ram lamb from Gary Atkins and family saw spirited bidding with multiple purchasers spinning the lamb back around the ring again to culminate in 1,360 guineas, finally going home with Messrs JR Richards and Son, of Porlock.
Angie Andrews, Fran Willes, and Alison Habberfield also thanked everybody who supported a cake sale for the cancer centre, which raised £427.50.
They were overwhelmed by the support shown and said another cake sale would be arranged later this month.
