MONTHS of work by nine members of Porlock Art Group comes to fruition at the weekend when they open an exhibition as part of this year’s Somerset Art Weeks festival.

The exhibition, titled ‘9 at the Chapel’, will be in Bossington Methodist Chapel on Fridays through to Sundays during September 21 to October 6.

The working careers of the nine members, who meet weekly, range from hill farming to public health to psychotherapy, and in ‘later life’ each has rediscovered a latent love for art.

The exhibition theme is ‘Flux and Flow’ and the ‘all-original’ works range from prints and sculptures to photography and textiles, but concentrate mostly on the powerful, unique, and ever-changing landscapes of Exmoor.

The chapel’s evocative atmosphere also proved an inspiration for the group’s work, most of which is for sale.

A private viewing of the exhibition takes place on Friday (September 20) from 6 pm to 8 pm.
