THE garden at Elworthy Cottage, Elworthy, will be open again for the National Gardens Scheme (NGS) on Tuesday (July 30) to help raise funds for charity.
The garden is planted naturalistically to blend in with the beautiful West Somerset countryside.
Owner Mike Spiller said: “The ornamental grasses and late summer perennials are looking good along with the many interesting trees and shrubs.
“The meadow areas are colourful with knapweed and, at last, with the recent warmer weather, there have been more bees and butterflies which have been sadly lacking up until now.
“Our compost heaps provide a home for resident slowworms and a grass snake.”
Mr Spiller said he did not use pesticides in the garden and all of his plants were grown in peat free compost.
The garden will be open from 11am to 4.30pm with an admission price of £5, although children have free entry.
Dogs will be welcome on short leads, and teas will be available in aid of the Children’s Hospice South West.
The village garden can be found on the B3188 about half-way between Wiveliscombe and Watchet.
