AN online talk for Wootton Courtenay Gardening Club members later this month is being opened up to the whole village.
Judith Nesbitt will lecture on William Robinson, an Irish-born gardener and writer whose 1870 book ‘The Wild Garden’ sparked a new ethos which continues to influence garden design today.
Robinson championed an authentically naturalistic approach, using resilient plants within a dynamic design framework, evidenced by his Gravetye Manor garden, in Sussex.
Gardening club chairwoman Marion Jay said Ms Nesbitt was publishing a biography of Robinson and was ‘well versed in her subject and this promises to be an inspiring lecture’.
The talk will be at 7.30 pm on February 25 and villagers who want a link to join it should email [email protected].
