A TOTAL of £355 was raised by a highly successful charity quiz at Minehead Social Club towards the appeal for new long-term premises for Minehead Museum.
Thirteen teams took part in an evening of quizzing which was won by a local team, the Optimists.
A member of one of the teams said: “We had a really good time. The quiz was, as always, very well organised and the questions were excellent.”
“It is great that everybody had an enjoyable evening and helped us one step closer to our new home,” said museum curator Julian Luke.
“We still need support from individuals and local businesses if we are finally to secure premises capable of displaying the unique collection of items and be able to house class and group visits in more suitable surroundings.
“Our thanks to all who have supported the project so far and plans are already underway for displaying our 2025 season exhibits.”
Based in the Beach Hotel, the museum is now closed for the winter having welcomed over 10,000 visitors this year and will reopen in mid-March next year. New stewards and volunteers are always welcome.
The museum first opened in 2014. The museum’s next quiz at the social club is scheduled for Friday, January 24. Call: 01643 704683.
