THE National Trust is inviting visitors to explore Fyne Court after-dark this autumn and experience a unique night-time Twilight event in collaboration with Fuse Somerset Outdoor Arts.
The illuminated trail will wind its way around the follies and woodland of the former Arcadian landscape garden. Highlights will include intricately lit trees and sculptures, interactive audio stories about the wonders of nature and breathtaking fire performances on the Courtyard Lawn.
James Mcwilliam, Fyne Court visitor operations and experience manager, said: “We’re so excited to be hosting Twilight at Fyne Court. It’s a rare opportunity to soak up the atmosphere of the estate at night-time – we’re looking forward to welcoming lots of visitors to enjoy this very special event.”
Sally Mann, creative director of Fuse Somerset Outdoor Arts, said: “Fuse are delighted to be able to bring the enchanting Twilight event to Fyne Court.
“We’re hugely looking forward to showcasing the natural wonders of the woodland and gardens with fire and light performances, soundscapes, sculpture and live music.”
Nestled in the heart of the Quantock Hills, five miles from Taunton, the 90-acre Fyne Court estate was once the home of scientist Andrew Crosse, who is rumoured to have inspired Mary Shelley’s Dr Frankenstein character.
Twilight is taking place on October 4-5-6.
