DISCOUNTED tickets are being offered to people living in West Somerset who visit the Fleet Air Arm Museum this winter.

The museum, in Yeovilton, is knocking off 30 per cent of the price of visiting for people with TA, BA, DT, SP, and BS home postcodes.

The offer will end on February 14, but the tickets will last for 12 months and allow unlimited visits during that time.

The museum has Europe’s largest naval aircraft collection, with more than 100 aircraft, and two million records, artefacts, and objects

It covers the history of the Fleet Air Arm and British naval aviation from its pioneers to the age of jump jets and helicopters.

General manager Marc Farrance said: “This is the third year of the scheme and it is always a joy to offer reduced entry to those who live locally.

“Now is the perfect time to visit and see some of your favourite aircraft or exhibitions, or experience it all for the first time.

“The discounted tickets represent great value, offering a whole year of access, and come just as many of us are looking for Christmas gifts.”

One of the museum’s most recent projects is ‘Barracuda Live: The Big Rebuild’, where visitors can get up close and personal to a project aiming to build the only complete Fairey Barracuda in the world.

The discount can be redeemed either online here by inputting a billing address, or in person by taking along proof of address.
