PUBLIC toilets which closed suddenly in Minehead after being hit by a vehicles and left with possible structural damage to the building have now fully reopened.
The Changing Places and men’s facilities in the Summerland Road car park reopened on Wednesday (October 16).
Now, the women’s toilets have also reopened, although further work and another temporary closure is still needed.
A town council spokesperson said the building’s stability had potentially been compromised by the incident, which required ‘immediate action to ensure public safety’.
The spokesperson said: “The facility was temporarily closed for thorough inspection.
“Necessary temporary safety measures were implemented, and the building was assessed and deemed safe for public use.”
No dates or durations were currently known for the upcoming closure and work, but the council said it was committed to maintaining transparency throughout the process and would keep people fully informed.
Alternative facilities would remain available in Blenheim Gardens, Quay West, and Warren Road.
